Thankful Thursday: My New Grain Mill!!

Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good;  His love endures forever.  Psalm 107:1

I know I’ve mentioned it on Facebook a couple of times, and now you’re hearing about it yet again here, but that’s just how excited I am!

I’ve been wanting a grain mill for a very long time.  As in, I first started looking around at them about ten years ago when we lived in California.  Not wanting to shell out the cash for an item that I knew we could live without, I could never talk myself into buying one.

But finally, the time came when I decided that it was worth it to be able to grind my own flour for making my family’s bread, muffins, cakes, cookies, crackers….you name it!  So, I saved up until I had the money to buy a grain mill.

I poked around on the internet until I figured out that The Bread Beckers was the best place to buy one and ordered a Nutrimill from them.  It arrived within just a few days of my order from Azure Standard.

I didn’t waste much time putting it to use, and whipped up some Ezekiel flour in it for bread, which was delicious!

I’m so thankful for my new mill, for good food for our growing boys, and for an ever-growing passion to learn more about whole foods and nutrition.

What are YOU thankful for this week?

  1. Sooooo happy for you! I’ve wanted one for about three years, so if you were able to wait ten, I suppose I can wait a little longer!

    Just a little…. ; )

  2. I’m thankful for the brand new living room that’s going into my living room as I type 🙂

  3. I’m thankful for my NutriMill too! I used it today to grind hard red wheatberries for whole wheat flour to make bread (recipe from Breadbeckers) and to grind soft white wheatberries for pastry flour to make wholesome granola bars for a friend!
It is pricey but I use my often. I say it quickly pays for itself for what I save on buying flour. 🙂

  4. That’s awesome. I love getting new appliances like that. 🙂

  5. Brandy,
I just received the same mill, I am so excited can you share some of your recipes that you use your mill for?
    Thanks
