Thankful Thursday: Celebrating 16 Years!

Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good;  His love endures forever.  Psalm 107:1

This past weekend, my husband and I, together with our boys, celebrated 16 years of marriage.  We had discussed what to do to celebrate, and seeing how I’m nine months pregnant and all, we  knew we wanted to stay close to home and keep it simple this year.

Both of us felt like we wanted to include our sons, all of them, on our date.  Strange as it may sound, they’re part of the beauty we’re celebrating.  Each one of these boys are here with us as a result of our love for each other, so it only seemed appropriate to take them with us, and then to make it a point to explain to them at dinner, that we were celebrating family.

We’ll soon have eight boys born into our family in the sixteen years since we were married in January of 1996.

If that’s not a cause for celebration, I sure don’t know what is!

So…here’s to my hard-working man, whom I’ve watched mature into an amazing father, successful business man/entrepreneur, friend, and supportive-like-never-before husband.  I’m glad we’ve weathered the storms and held onto each other this far.  I look forward to the rest of the adventure with him!  And to our precious children, gifts from the Lord, as each of them are – we’re so blessed to get to be your parents, and we’re so thankful for our LIFE together!

I’m so thankful we get to celebrate!  16 years and counting!

What are YOU thankful for this Thursday?

  1. Congratulations!!! A marriage that is strong in the Lord, that survives illness, and weathers storms is definitely something to be celebrated. Have a great anniversary, my dear friend.

  2. Congratulation on 16 years!!!!! That is a wonderful testament to a strong family and bond. We will celebrate 13 years this summer and have included our children in our anniversary celebration since they were born. We do our own “dates” now and then, but our children have helped to mold us into the husband and wife that we are, and they are equally important in this marriage. Enjoy spending the day with all of your men, young and old alike.

  3. Congratulations on 16 years!!!
