Thankful Thursday: A New Day

I’ve always been a morning person. And I’m even more so as a mother.

It seems nights can be one of the most difficult challenges moms face sometimes, with sleep deprivation due to nursing babies, or tending to sick children, or to fearing through the night that at any moment, you may have to take that REALLY sick child to the ER.

Then morning comes, and truly, isn’t it almost always better?
A beautiful Sunrise
This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24

The fever is down, or if it isn’t, at least you know the pediatrician is now in the office.  You might not have slept well, but at least now the fight is over.  And the colicky baby is now ironically snoozing peacefully.  Mornings just offer relief, so many times.

I’m thankful for mornings.  For the fresh start they bring.   A new chance.

Blew it yesterday?  Today’s a new day.

Didn’t get stuff done that you were supposed to do?  Here’s another shot.

I’m thankful for each brand new day.  A new opportunity to live for the glory of God.

And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Colossians 3:17

I’m thankful for each new day and the fresh start they bring.

What are you thankful for?

  1. Thay is so true! So often things do seem so much better in the light of day. And even better if we can forget what is behind and press forward to what is ahead 🙂

  2. Mornings are something to be thankful for, that’s for sure! I’m not naturally a morning person but I do like that each day brings a fresh beginning.

Today I’m especially thankful for my husband as we just recently celebrated 3 years of marriage :)!

  3. Nicely put. I am not a morning person in any shape or form but can truely appreciate the freshness of each morning.
