I’m so thankful that today I am exactly 40 weeks pregnant! I’m humbled by the fact that I have had the privilege of carrying eight babies to (or very close to) their due dates! What a miracle!
I’m thankful that labor and birth are literally within days (or hours….that would be nice.) I’m thankful for our plan to birth quietly, peacefully, non-medically – at home. I’m thankful for a husband who is committed to being by my side to help in any way he can. And I’m thankful for God’s sovereign plan. I’m thankful that I trust Him. I’m thankful for a peaceful heart.
I’m thankful for tiny socks and hats., sweet newborn outfits and tiny blankets for swaddling. I’m thankful that the boys are excitedly awaiting the arrival of their next little brother.
I’m thankful for the wisdom of my midwife and the therapy from my awesome chiropractor, who is doing all he can to help my bones get in the right places for an optimal birth.
I’m thankful for puffy, swollen hands, whose fingers will no longer allow for a ring to slide off, the fact that I simply canNOT reach my toes, and that I sometimes need to sit up to sleep to allow more room for the little one taking up so much space inside my abdomen.
God is good. I’m amazed at His Creation, His wisdom, and His unfailing love and faithfulness.
What are YOU thankful for this Thursday?
