Simple Fruit Salad

Fruit salad is an easy way for me to serve all the boys fruit at mealtime without worrying about who will eat what.

For instance, Dylan likes apples and grapes, but not strawberries or nectarines.

Levi eats the oranges and strawberries, but leaves the bananas.

And most of the other boys will eat just about any of those fruits.

By cutting up a variety of fruits and putting them all together in one big bowl, I can serve everyone at once, knowing that I’ve made everyone happy.

I like to make a big batch in the morning, and if there are left-overs, they work well for lunch, too.  Remember that some fruits don’t do well overnight, so fruit salad is always best served just after preparing.

Almost any fruit will work in a fruit salad, but these are our favorites:

  • strawberries
  • bananas
  • grapes
  • apples
  • nectarines
  • oranges
  • cantaloupe

For festive gatherings, try serving your fruit salad with this delicious fruit dip!

    • LOL! I know, Miranda! I thought the same thing when I was posting it. But it does show up on so many plates around here, I had to put it on our family menu. 😉
