Happy July 1st!
Wow, do I love summer! A time to rest, refresh, renew, and recharge!
After a couple of months of recovering from a sore leg, I am more ready than ever to become more focused on living a healthy, vibrant life! So this month, I’m starting a few new habits, intended to be done in the mornings, in an effort to change the course of my day, and ultimately, the course of my life.
Real, abundant health is not just physical, but spiritual, and mental, too. There are definitely things we can do each day to purposely choose to start our day off in a positive direction in each of these areas!
So are you ready to kickstart your day with me?
The Daily Challenges
Each morning, grab your coffee, tea, lemon water, yerba mate, or whatever it is your drink, and jump in ad do the following.
Read the Bible in the morning.
For the entire month of July, we will be reading a chapter a day in the book of Proverbs. Simple. Anyone can do it, and anyone can jump in at any time. The date determines the chapter, so July 1st = Chapter 1, July 19 = Chapter 19, etc.
Get dressed and ready for the day.
All the way. With shoes. And make-up if you like to wear it. You can do it.
I know this may sound strange, but getting completely ready puts a whole new spin on my day. I feel prepared. I don’t feel behind all day.
Nourish your body.
Eat a healthy breakfast. It doesn’t have to be huge. Don’t like breakfast? I understand. I have to make myself, too. But even a small bowl of oatmeal with a bit of juice counts.
And then take your vitamins. Please take your vitamins. You can’t expect to run at optimal strength if you aren’t putting back in what you’re depleting, especially if you are nursing a sweet little one.
Start your chores for the day.
Get your machines going for you first thing. Load the washer, the dryer, and the dishwasher, and press GO. While they’re working, make your bed, and tidy up a few areas.
Ask your kids to do the same with their beds and rooms each morning.
Get some exercise.
When possible, go OUTSIDE and breathe the fresh air and get your exercise in the sun. Vitamin D is critically low in MOST people, so take advantage of the sun’s rays while exercising. Besides, walking, jogging, and running on your sidewalk with your kids are all free!
You will notice how much better you feel after some regular exercise outdoors!
I will post each morning around 7 AM, CST, with a few tips and areas to focus.
Who’s with me?
