Easy, Healthy Lunch List

As a homeschooling mom of eight boys, I try to keep lunch as simple and easy as possible around here.

No time for major interruptions for cooking or cleaning in the middle of our homeschool day, I like to keep a lunch menu that consists of fast, easy-to-grab items that the boys can choose from that creates a well-balanced, healthy meal that will re-fuel their bodies for the remainder of our busy afternoon.

The typical lunch plate usually includes something from each of the following groups.

Easy, Healthy Lunch List

Raw veggies:

  • carrots, celery, and/or broccoli and ranch dip
  • sliced red, yellow, and orange baby bell peppers with ranch or hummus
  • organic spinach salad
  • organic spring mix salad
  • cherry or grape tomatoes (cut into smaller pieces for little ones)

Fruit:

  • simple fruit salad served with organic vanilla yogurt
  • clementines, grapes, strawberries, apples, bananas – It doesn’t get any faster than these!
  • dried fruit, especially raisins
  • fruit smoothies

  1. Your lunch list looks a lot like ours. My menu is the same each week (makes for a *very* simple grocery list)…it varies a bit depending on if we have leftovers, but the children love looking at the laminated menu on the fridge each morning and holding me to it! Tacos are on the menu on Mondays, and I wanted to do cooked veggies last night, but they (and the menu) won. ;)

Is that your homemade bread in the turkey bacon sandwich picture? if not, what kind of sprouted bread do you buy? that one looks nice and soft :)

  3. Hello, i read your blog occasionally and i own a similar
one and i was just curious if you get a lot of spam feedback?
If so how do you protect against it, any plugin or anything you can advise?
I get so much lately it’s driving me crazy so any help is very much appreciated.
