It seems it always goes that way. I get a five minute window to sit down, think, write, read or pray, and my time is interrupted by noise. I often ask myself how it is that, as a writer, I have been challenged by such irony. In my moments stolen away, captured in the quiet of morning, in an afternoon breeze, or when the house is settled for the night, I listen. 1 Kings 19: 11 The LORD said, "Go … [Read more...]
A Chapter in our Lives: Lessons from 2009

The Trouble with Disobedience
Ugh!!! My three year old comes charging down the stairs with two small toy baskets in hand. He knows he's not supposed to, but I remind him, "no, take the toys back upstairs! You're not allowed to bring them downstairs! That's the rule." (My rule is not the point here, but an illustration of why obedience is necessary in order to live our lives in freedom.) So the … [Read more...]
Spring

I was fascinated by the way God had caused the wind, rain, sleet and snow to come together to COVER the ground - so forcefully, completely and yet so beautiful and soft once it was there. And then only hours later, watching the sun melt it away and listening to the snow … [Read more...]
