It’s that time of year again. After a fun-filled summer, we’re back at the books.
And…like some of you, I’m carrying a few extra pounds (in spite of walking 12 miles a day at Disney for five days straight) after my “relaxed” summer schedule. Sigh.
You would think with all the running AND running around with these boys that I do, there wouldn’t be any extra pounds…but alas, I’m 37.
I need to lose just a few pounds, and I want to do it quickly. I am training to run in the San Antonio Rock n’ Roll Marathon/Half Marathon in November, and I need to make sure I’m in tip-top condition, y’all.
It’s time for me to really focus on maximizing my nutrition and my training, because, well, it is going to take all I’ve got to pull off this race.
So with a little over two months before race day, I’m diving in and I’m going to give it my best shot. I’ve dragged my heels in the sand for long enough. I could start over with 42 Days to Fit, but honestly that’s not what I’m needing. 42 Days to Fit is about breaking old, bad habits and creating new, healthy ones. I already eat pretty healthy (minus my summer time slip-ups) and am obviously exercising.
After seeing my husband lose over 15 pounds and get in better shape than I’ve ever seen him in, I’ve decided to do what he did and am going to try the quick 24 day challenge with AdvoCare.
One of my main reasons for deciding to utilize their challenge is the herbal cleanse. I ate some junk food on vacation, y’all. I had a few too many desserts this summer. I’m not feeling so great these days. That’s all I’m saying about that. I’m also seriously considering giving up my morning coffee habit, for a few reasons. I have heard countless people say they quit drinking coffee permanently when on this challenge.
So, who’s with me? We’ve all got 24 days…let’s do it together!
